LOOT 2012
The Lake Ontario Opti Team, or LOOT is one of a few teams that have been formed over the past fifteen years to help local Opti sailors grow in their knowledge of sailing and build advanced racing tactics that propel them to the top of the class. LOOT however is a bit different in that it is truely International in flavor. With sailors from Bermuda, Canada and the US, and Roberto Fabini, full-time opti coach from Uruguay.

Well, well. Another amazing LOOT summer adventure has come to close. I sadly drove Roberto to the airport this afternoon, I know he was very anxious to be with his family again. They were all going to welcome him at the airport and then go on a family holiday together. However, I did see a bit of sadness in his eyes about the ending of our summer. He is an amazing coach and human being. How many coaches out there are this talented in their field and also agree to live in all kinds of arrangements all summer long, drive a van/bus full of ipod blaring kids whilst towing a large trailer, be with our children virtually 24/7, repair boats, play sports pyschologist, play psuedo parent, etc. etc.? I told him by the time his children reach our children's ages he will be the perfect expert parent!
Let's reflect on moments of the summer: Sailing and lots of it, in almost every kind of wind condition, training, racing, seeing the team's results climbing up the result sheets, our welcome dinner at the Turners, swimming, water trampolining, tubing, power boating, tsunamis, music videos, roller coasters, Roberto's first time on a roller coaster and likely his last, long crazy drives arriving at "ungodly" hours and then to turn around a race again the next day, our amazing team dinner, the Eiseners goofy joke gifts and speeches, our yummy and gorgeous loot cake, our team photo books, our wonderful team photo, the girls new team name "LOST"( Lake Ontario Shopping Team), the singing, the teasing, the laughing, the throwing up ( Roberto, Georgia and Sebby!) and, yeah, some crying but all in way to help our children grow into strong, confident young adults.
Thank you to everyone for all your help, your parents and friends help, your support, effort, kindness, humour and for having your kids be part of this magical thing called LOOT. Enjoy the rest of the summer and hope to cross paths with you all again. Over and out for LOOT 2012!

CORK Day 2
Hi everyone, since many of you are here much of this is irrelevant but thought I email whole group. Weather turned out to be lovely today ( not what weather man was calling for) they did 3 races with similar wind to yesterday but a little stronger overall. We are doing everything we can to get her ready for her big trip to china to Tomorrow !

Hi all, so sorry for taking so long to connect with you all! It has been a whirlwind day. Team arrived at the dorms at 3:45 am (not kidding!) boys went to sleep ASAP but girls, believe it or not, I had to shhh at 4 am! They slept in til about 9:30 and after quick breakie off to harbor to unload boats, rig , competitor meeting and racing. Weather held out, and they completd 3 races. Decent wind for 1st race, light and shifty for second and very light for third. Results are up www.corkkingston.ca. Pretty great Showing by loot after not a heck of a lot of sleep! They are great kids, never even appeared tired today at all, ahh the resilience of youth! We are still in Roberto's infamous debrief and then off to bed. Which I might be the first one to go! See many of you tomorrow. Ingrid

On The Road
9:34PM
they are on their way from Newport to Cork - travel is going smooth so far - I have talked to Dan and Jessica a few times. They will be late to get to cork - but - last I talked to them the van was beginning to quiet! So hopefully they get some sleep in the van - that is the plan - I also know Ingrid has communicated with the drivers all the instructions to get the kids into the dorms as quick and as smooth as possible.
